An authentic Native American Drum in Deer hide.
Made by renowned Navajo artisan Paul Tohlakai, known world-wide for his exceptional drums, art of drum-making workshops and Native Wisdom teachings. Paul developed his signature antler handle and tie-off over 30 years ago. Often imitated, but never the same!
Each drum hoop carries Paul's signature for authenticity, please be aware of imitators.
The deer drum is currently available in 16" and 18" sizes. This hide is more sensitive to environmental changes than our bison, elk and moose drums. It does not like high humidity which cause a loss of tautness and tone. It is best suited to dry climates where it sings with a beautiful higher tone and clarity.
The deer hide is much finer and has a golden luminosity to it when in the sunshine.
Other sizes from 12" upwards to 20" can be custom ordered, please allow up to 4 weeks for custom orders to be made and shipped. To order please email us at tohlakaiart@gmail.com
Days are spent fine tuning each drum for sound quality, this is one of the hallmarks of Tohlakai Drums, the extensive attention to detail each step of the way. Included with your order is Drum Care information to ensure you get the very most from your sacred instrument.
